MASCARIMIRI (Salento-Puglia | Italia) – una gemma della scena world music, capace di brillare non solo nel contesto italiano ma anche internazionale. Questo grazie al sound unico ed originale, il risultato di più di 20 anni di “Tradinnovazione” – l’idea di electro world music per eccellenza creata da Claudio “Cavallo” Giagnotti, musicista produttore salentino dalle origini Rom, leader e fondatore della band dal 1998.
Il progetto MASCARIMIRI, nato in un Salento ancora non turistico, da sempre all’avanguardia nella sperimentazione sonora, è il sinonimo di unione tra la tradizione e l’innovazione dal sound potente e coinvolgente, arricchito dai suoni di tutta l’area Mediterranea e gypsy. Oggi il suono dei MASCARIMIRI è maturo, sempre innovativo, forte della profonda conoscenza delle proprie radici, con un inconfondibile identità internazionale. Con dieci album in studio all’attivo e un’attività concertistica di primo livello, i Mascarimiri da più di 20 anni riscrivono la tradizione salentina, rimanendo la formazione più innovativa tra i gruppi di Pizzica Pizzica.
A giugno 2020 viene pubblicato il nuovo concept album “NOU?“, 11-esimo nella discografia, tutto rigorosamente in dialetto salentino – il marchio di riconoscimento di tutti i lavori di Claudio “Cavallo” Giagnotti.

MASCARIMIRI – is a bright star on the Pizzica Pizzica sky, able to shine not only in the Italian context but also into the international one.
This thanks to the unique and original sound, the result of more than 20 years of “Tradinnovazione” – the idea of electro world music par excellence created by Claudio “Cavallo” Giagnotti, the musician and producer with Roma Salentino origins, leader and founder of the band since 1998.
The MASCARIMIRI project, born in a Salento not yet touristic, has always been at the forefront of sound experimentation – is the synonym of union between tradition and innovation with a powerful and engaging sound, enriched by the sounds of the whole Mediterranean area and gypsy vibe.
Today the sound of MASCARIMIRI is mature, always innovative, with a deep knowledge of its roots and an unmistakable international identity.
With ten studio albums and first-rate concert activity, Mascarimiri is rewriting the tradition since over 20 years and remains the most innovative band among Pizzica Pizzica Salentina groups.
In June 2020 arrives “NOU?” – the new Mascarimiri concept album, all to dance and reflect. 11th in discography, all strictly in Salento dialect – the trademark of all Claudio “Cavallo” Giagnotti’s works.
